Riverside Military Academy Champions and Heroes‎. Rescheduled...

Note: This is not a SOG affiliated event.
RIVERSIDE MILITARY ACADEMY CHAMPIONS AND HEROES DELAYED

Atlanta, Georgia
April 19, 2017

Motor Club Events, LLC with Riverside Military Academy, Inc. jointly make the following announcement:

Due to the unforeseen circumstance of the Atlanta, Georgia, Interstate-85 fire and subsequent elevated roadway collapse, the much anticipated Riverside Military Academy Champions and Heroes event has been delayed from its original dates.  The closure of Interstate-85 until June 15, 2017 has created traffic at its worst and unbearable travel times to the extent that it is inappropriate to ask our event guests, sponsors, entrants, judges, spectators and event team to expose themselves to this unexpected difficulty.  Our greatest hope is that you will feel we have made the correct strategic decision for the good of one and all.

More information will be forthcoming as plans are finalized for the new target dates of June 1, 2, and 3, 2018.

Stay tuned for finalized dates....

As a background on Jan, he was responsible for getting many current members involved with the SOG in the early nineties. Jan would reach out to many SOG members and make them feel a part of SOG. He would engage you, encourage you, and connect you to others in a way that made SOG a highlight of several folks "car life." He enjoyed making friends and connecting them with hospitality, kind words, technical tips, concerned phone calls or help with whatever called for a friend. The SOG was lucky to have him.

We have additional details for the Wolf Mountain Vineyards outing on 11/19:

10:00 am; coffee, danish & doughnuts.

10:45 am; Drivers Meet. Hand out of map and OBS file sheets.
This will be the start of a VERY fun and scenic driving tour.

11:00 am; Wheels in motion. This will be an approximate one hour drive (a little over 30 miles) with observation questions. To quote the route planner, "one heck of a good run. Really fun!" Most of the drive will be all new for folks- some sections are repeats, but good enough going either way (double back), with pretty curves, vistas, towering hills & challenging sections.

This is an "observation" tour.
Things to be seen, and items to 'count'.
Test questions.
Trivia even.

NOTE: No dirt. No gravel. Most of the roads have painted lines (but not all).

Participants will get a good map, a nice pencil to write down their answers (guesses), and a special sheet which is (somewhat) a puzzle in itself.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, we need an accurate count of people so you MUST RSVP.

12:00 pm; Return to WMV.
Lunch
Awards (PRIZES GALORE!)

PLEASE PLEASE - be sure to R.S.V.P. to give us the best head count before the event. Helps make certain there’s enough to go ‘round. THANKS!
